Alba Power in Dubai sports sponsorship deal
Alba Power’s striking “Turbine-driven excellence” logo was on prominent display at a recent veterans’ rugby tournament held in Dubai. Alba Power was the main strip sponsor of the Baku Vets team, whose sizeable frames included Alba Power sales director and all-action second row forward Campbell Archibald (centre below).
“This sponsorship deal really gave us big-time exposure, as the photographs testify,” said Campbell, who stands an impressive 6’4” in his stocking soles and tips the scales at an undisclosed weight.
After a series of skilfully-engineered byes, the Baku Vets reached the final of the competition, going down to a narrow 38-0 defeat at the hands, feet and knees of a team of ex-Premiership players who had resorted to the thoroughly ungentleman-like tactic of training.
“Our team took their duties as brand ambassadors very seriously, and remained as static as possible for long periods during the final to give the logo maximum exposure,” confirmed Campbell.
“That type of extreme dedication is sadly all too lacking in the game today!”
Over £1,100 was raised by Alba Power for Community Shield Azerbaijan (CSA) (http://www.csabaku.org), a charitable organisation dedicated to assisting homeless children in the area. “This was a very good effort too in the raising-money-for-charity stakes, and our thanks to everyone who contributed and made it possible,” said CSA spokesperson Quinta Woodward.
