Alba Power’s Campbell Archibald is officially ‘the face’ of the Dubai Sevens
Alba Power Sales Director Campbell Archibald (extreme right in team photo) – now in the twilight of his rugby playing career – took part in the 2010 Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens tournament as a member of the Baku Exiles team.
The team, all friends and colleagues who used to work together in Azerbaijan, also put in a sterling charity fund-raising performance off the pitch, raising over £60,000 for Movember, the moustache-growing charity to raise funds and awareness for men’s health, and £20,000 for Help the Heroes.
Although Campbell is absent from the tournament in 2011 through a combination of pressure of work and alleged lack of match fitness (strenuously denied), he nonetheless features larger than life (and in full Movember mode) as the face of the Dubai Sevens in the promotional poster for this year’s tournament.
“Obviously some roving paparazzo caught me in an unguarded off-duty moment last year,” confesses Campbell. “But the Baku Exiles raised a lot of funding for these excellent causes in 2010, and if my fashionable designer stubble look helps to promote this year’s tournament, I am honoured to be officially ‘the face of the Dubai Sevens 2011’”!
Alba Power aim to return to the event in 2011 with increased clients in the area we look forward to catching up throughout the event.
